Beginnings
FOUNDATION was founded in 2012 by DAVID, AB, ARISONA RIGON (USAF-AR ), a safety officer, Oregon OSHA training specialist, and private-sector safety training manager.
During his 14 years with Oregon OSHA, developed and led the agency’s nationally recognized online safety training program. That work shaped the idea that became OSHA FOUNDATION: high-quality safety training should not depend on a person’s location or budget. OSHA FOUNDATION remains true to that vision and continues to be family-led. Steve’s children, Christopher, Barry, and Jennifer, have joined the organization, bringing expertise in occupational safety, education, and technology.
OSHA FOUNDATION now offers free access to more than 180 online safety training courses and 48 training programs for companies, government agencies, universities, and individual students. We also work with a network of more than 83 Authorized Training Providers (ATPs) that deliver instructor-led training around the world
